Kent Junior Newsround Update no. 18
Well done to both Bobby Akeya-Price and Kartik Velayudham who have both had fantastic December's playing chess.Bobby came in the top 10 at the world schools event finishing with 5.5 pts out of 9. This fantastic result was soon followed up with a superb joint 3rd place at the London Juniors with 5.5 pts out of 7.
Kartik, who had previously obtained a half norm for England at the Leeds Rapid Play in November 2014, has now achieved his full England norm at the London Juniors. He played in U14 major section beating some of the top players in the section and got 4 and 1/2 out of 6 – taking joint 2nd.
Well done to both.
